Didja Know:A
chronicle of drving stupidity(continued)
DIDJA
KNOW? for 05/06/01:
It's okay to whiz by a State Trooper if you're, like, really in a hurry.
THE STORY: Driving back from my friend's place late Sunday afternoon
on 495, traffic did the kind of slowdown it does when there's a police
officer on the road. Lo and behold, a Massachusetts State Trooper had
appeared in the middle lane a few cars up ahead of me. Directly behind
HIM, however, was a guy in a pickup truck who seemed, for some reason,
really intent on getting by the trooper. Which was, like, impossible,
since everyone else had slowed down around him.
So, I'm sitting (driving) there, watching this pickup swerve from one
lane to another (not signaling, of course), wondering if he's really
aware of what the lights, antennas, and words "STATE POLICE"
mean on the car in front of him. At this point, apparently the Trooper
gets tired of this, moves over to the right lane, hits his brakes, watches
the pickup fly by him, and then puts on his flashers, pulling the Idiot
over. I just kinda giggled as I drove on by. Ahh... Gotta love the simple-minded.
